directors note

Evoking the disasters provoked by a neglected environmental agenda of the Brazilian government, “Frans Krajcberg: Manifesto" claims against the distortions and aggressions on the Amazonian rain forest calling for an urgent anthropological mutation of mankind for a new Renaissance. Moreover, "Manifesto" talks about the conceptual chaos in the contemporary art and proposes a new process of appropriation of reality linked to a special sense of nature. The narrative follows the memories and reflections of Krajcberg with no chronological timeline. This is the realm of inner experiences of the artist. The film displays a profound and confident relationship between main character and interviewer, based on a relationship of more than 35 years of friendship between them.
